Search in a Bible or Publication—Windows

The search feature of JW Library lets you find a word or phrase in a Bible or publication.

Follow these instructions to search:

 Search in a Bible

You can search for a word or phrase in the Bible you are currently reading.

While viewing a Bible, tap the Search box, then start typing the word you want to find. As you type, you will see suggestions. To see the search results, tap a suggestion or tap the Enter key on the keyboard.

Top Verses shows the most frequently used verses that match your search. All Verses shows all matching verses sorted in Bible book order. Articles shows matching articles in the introduction and appendixes.

If you typed multiple words, check the Match Exact Phrase box to show only results that exactly match the phrase you typed.

 Search in a Publication

You can search for a word or phrase in the publication you are currently reading.

While viewing a publication, tap the Search box, then start typing the word you want to find. As you type, you will see suggestions. To see the results, tap a suggestion or tap the Enter key on the keyboard.

If you typed multiple words, check the Match Exact Phrase box to show only results that exactly match the phrase you typed.

 Search for a Topic

If you have downloaded Insight on the Scriptures, you can search for an Insight topic. This feature is available while you are reading any Bible or publication in the app.

Tap the Search box, then start typing the topic you want to find. As you type, matching topics from Insight on the Scriptures are included in the list of suggestions. Tap a topic to open the article.

These features were released in October 2014 with JW Library 1.3.4, which is compatible with Windows 8.0 or later. If you don’t see these features, please follow the instructions in the article “Start Using JW Library—Windows,” under Get the Latest Features.
